We are pleased to announce that our land use and forestry specialist Andreas Schnall is teaching a seminar at the Technical University Cologne during the summer semester 2017 with the subject “Timber biomass as renewable energy source”. The seminar is part of the master degrees program for renewable energy management, natural resources management and integrated water resources management at the Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics.
Background for the topic is the growing demand for energy in developing countries, and their governments goal to produce more energy from renewable sources. The global economy is undergoing a massive transition from a fossil fuel based energy supply to a low carbon infrastructure. For this, biomass energy will increasingly become important especially in countries of the developing world where biomass has traditionally been a major source of energy supply.
The seminar will draw from entrepreneurial and practical experience of ForestFinest Consulting’s work and projects to enhance the academic and scientific work of students.
