ForestFinest Consulting was selected to be part of the program ADMIRE Coffee NAMA Peru which develops innovative financing for sustainable coffee production through the private sector. NAMA stands for Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions and aims to transform the economies of developing countries towards a low-carbon future by supporting sustainable practices, policies and projects in all economical sectors. Peru’s Government is focusing on regions in the Amazon as coffee productivity is currently under its production potential. The program aims to re-direct growth of coffee production from expansion into natural forests to intensify production on existing farms and abandoned lands. The program will bring sustainable practices to increased coffee productivity to scale and improves the livelihoods of more than 200,000 coffee producers while reducing CO2 emissions through carbon stock enhancement.
