Supporting REDD+ strategy in Guatemala

We are glad to announce that we will support the Government of Guatemala for the next two years to further develop the country’s REDD+ strategy. REDD stands for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, a programme promoted by the UN. Together with our partners GOPA and Sudaustral, we will assist to integrate Guatemala’s REDD+ strategy into other national policy and planning frameworks thus coordinating with ongoing initiatives by the Forest Investment Program (FIP) and the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) administered by the World Bank.  The project is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

CO2OL joined Gold Standard Network Platform

Today, CO2OL has joined the Gold Standard Network Platform. The project of the international certification body uses a collaborative approach between companies, project developers, government agencies and NGOs to promote more ambitious steps for climate action and sustainable development. The network seeks to mobilise partnerships and drive new ideas that aim to achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement as well as the UN Sustainable Development Goals. ClimateSeed offsetting platform now online

ClimateSeed, a platform for climate action, was officially launched today at the Global Social Business Summit organized by peace Nobel prize Prof. Yunus’ Grameen. We are glad to be a partner in this enterprise right from the start. ClimateSeed is powered by French bank BNP Paribas and aims at answering today’s sustainable development plus climate change issues. Alternative Nobel Prize for reforestation technique

Congratulations to Tony Rinaudo! The Australian agronomist has won this year’s “Alternative Nobel Prize” for a trailblazing reforestation technique. Since the 1980s, Rinaudo has been developing the so-called FMNR method for reforestation. FMNR stands for Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration. The method uses existing living root fragments of cut trees and makes them grow again. It is mainly used in desert and semi-desert areas in Africa. In the Sahel zone, millions of hectares of land have been restoring vegetation, thereby helping to stop desertification and re-green drylands. CO2OL project featured on new platform B Neutral

We gladly announce that the newly launched platform B-Neutral prominently features our Tropical Mix reforestation project.  B-Neutral was created by Carbon Trade eXchange (CTX) in London. CTX is the world’s first wholesale exchange platform for carbon credits providing hight quality verified offsets to fund projects mitigating climate change.
