German chimney sweepers drive climate friendly
Already 1.720 service vehicles of chimney sweepers in Germany drive climate friendly. The climate change mitigation project of the Federal Association of Chimney Sweepers has taken off since 2016 when state’s associations such as Saxony-Anhalt have started to support the project.
Chimney sweepers are increasingly seen as “climate protection managers” for households. Through their action, they support climate protection efforts and underline their new role and know-how.
CO2OL has been cooperating with the Federal Association in Germany for four years. The CO2 emissions from vehicles operations are offset by Gold Standard certified reforestation projects in Panama and Ethiopia. In addition, the Association supports the conservation of forest land in Panama where former pasture and fallow land is reforested with native tree species.
The Association’s goal is to ensure that all chimney sweepers will one day drive climate friendly. To achieve this, the Association now partners with Citroën Germany to deliver new company vehicles climate friendly per default ex factory.
