Michael Sahm, Director Business Development CO2OL, will participate in a panel discussion about airlines‘ efforts to operate more climate friendly on 29 June 2017 in Berlin.
The subject for the workshop is „Climate Action in International Aviation: Challenges and Opportunities for the new global market based measure CORSIA“. It is organised by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, and the Climate Technology Initiative (CTI).
The workshop will follow up on the decision on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to introduce the „Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation“ (CORSIA). Participants will discuss next steps to design and implement the mechanism as well as the role of offset standards for ensuring the scheme’s environmental integrity. Furthermore, the event will address scenarios to develop offset supply implementation of CORSIA throughout the world.
